THE ROLLING STONES....HELL YEAH!!

Perfect weekend to fly to San Diego and spend time with friends from high school, one I hadn't seen in 25 years and the other I just seen 2 weeks ago when she came to stay with me here in Vegas but before that we hadn't seen each other in 33 years. Stayed with my friend Judi who lives in a beautiful high rise on the San Diego Harbor....think Sex in the City and you got it, her life has 24 hour door man and concierge service and only 2 blocks from the beautiful San Diego Harbor.  Our other friend Terri took the train from Oceanside and spent the entire day with us until we walked to back to the train at 11 pm. Great Day! Last night Judi and I went to see The Rolling Stones at Petco Park, a sold out event and the ballpark has over 42,000 seats...wow!! I have been to a lot of concerts before but this one was IT. The crowds alone were staggering and the Stones couldn't have been any better as they played a solid 2 hours and 15 minutes. Great weekend with great friends, thank you so much Judi for making this all come together.

A Perfect Mother's Day

I really wasn't looking forward to Mother's Day this year since it is my first in 31 years without sharing it with Greg but as it turned out it was one of my best ever, my son Tyler and his wife Karie and my granddaughter Kaitlyn decided to come to Las Vegas to celebrate with me. It was so great to have someone here with me and so special to have Kaitlyn here to spoil. Flowers and red vines ....yes licorice from Tyler, phone calls from Kori, Ben and Vickey just made the day perfect. Thanks you guys...so supportive and so much love on a day I really needed it.

Secret Field Trip

Yesterday I went on a "Secret Field Trip" with the Cora Coleman Senior Center where I work 3 days a week. Our center goes on a lot of field trips but we always know where we are going and what to expect, but on this trip we were told we had to sign up for a trip that would be completely secret until we got to our destination. Of course everyone on the buses were all speculating where we might be going and driving the bus drivers crazy the entire way. Our first stop.... a local custom hat making company, what a treat to see how all of the Roy Roger and Dale Evans family hats are still made. This plant is still using equipment from before I was born...I'm talking old. Our next stop was lunch at Smash Burger, the best black burger and olive oil and rosemary fries I have ever had. Our third secret stop was at the Studio 21 Tattoo shop, a family own shop with really talented artists. This place is so clean you can eat off the floor, and our final stop before going back to the center was Baskin Robins Ice cream, a great way to end a perfect day with so many friends. Thanks Carol for all your hard work and really ....how the heck were you able to keep all this from me?

Volleyball Fun

I really don't know what I was thinking or drinking when I decided to sign up for a volleyball league. Friday night was our first game and seeing how I haven't played since high school I wasn't sure if my teammates would kick me off the team after the first game. I made it through both matches and they even invited me back next week, so it looks like I will be spending my Friday nights at Sunset Park play volleyball this spring, maybe I will even get some arm muscles!

Jagger and Bowie are in the house

Bowie's home.... I adopted a sister for Jagger since he is such a wild one...he is going on 6 months old now, I can't hardly believe it. I found a playmate for him on Craig's list in hopes that it will keep him busy and calm him down a bit. I have never had two cats at once...ever. She is  6 weeks old and really tiny but just a little sweetheart....for now that is. Meet Bowie.

Bowie - 8 weeks
Jagger- 6 months
