Happy Birthday Sylvia

I know I haven't posted for awhile but scroll down to see what has been going on this past week.
I just want to send  "Happy Birthday" wishes to one of the finest people I know. Happy Birthday Silvia! Thank you for spending your birthday with us this year and thank you especially for sharing your world with me for the past 20 years.

My Company has left but the Posse is back!

OMG last night I got tickets for the Lenny Kravitz concert at the MGM Garden Arena how cool is that?
The posse is back, me, Jackie, Tanya and Erin got the treat of the year with this concert.
The show was so great with lots of surprises! Lenny first came out and said he had just gotten back into the country and was going to make this show about family and friends. He sang the first 2 songs, "Come On Get It" and then he sang American Woman". For the next song he said he had a high school friend with him who was going to come on stage to play with him.. it was Slash from Guns & Roses and they played "Always on the Run"-the crowd went wild!!! what a treat. A little bit later he announced he has a friend who just had a birthday and wanted us to sing Happy Birthday to him, walking out on stage with assistance was Muhammad Ali and Quincy Jones who sat on stage while Lenny sang "Black and White America". Saturday was Muhammad's 70th birthday and they had a huge party at the MGM for him.
The remainder of the show was just fantastic - great music and energy and just when you thought it was almost over ....drum roll.....Joe Perry from Aerosmith comes out to play "Are You Going My Way" with Lenny, It doesn't get much better than that (well okay if Steven Tyler had been there then maybe). This was like 3 concerts in one. How lucky were we?

How much fun was Saturday?

Saturday Sylvia sat in on my wire wrap class and Greg and Bones went out to the shooting range for some practice. This was a first for Sylvia with wire and she did a great job as did everyone in that class. I hope I didn't stress her out too much!
The guys got back from their day just as our class was wrapping up, great timing since we all had to hurry to get ready for the Country Superstar Tribute show at the Golden Nugget. That is another good show to see if you haven't already. The performers were dead on for the people they were portraying ...I want to go see Big and Rich in concert because of it. The show is only an hour long but one hour of pure entertainment. If you are having out of state guests and looking for a good inexpensive show to see this is the show for you.
Saturday was Sylvia and Bones 40th wedding anniversary ....wow 40 years! who does that anymore? After the show we went to dinner at the Grotto in the Golden Nugget to celebrate their anniversary and just before our dinner arrived Sylvia surprise us with a photo of the 4 of us when we were all together at a company Christmas Party 20 years ago. Happy Anniversary you guys! you inspire us!

How much fun was Friday you ask?

So Friday we got up and had a leisurely breakfast and chatted over coffee and tea then I decided to introduce Sylvia and Bones to WII golfing (they are both golf nuts). It was too much fun watching them have fun, laugh and act like little kids ....I think I heard them say they were buying a WII.
Friday night I got tickets to see the America Soul show at the Harmon theater. If you like soul music you will LOVE this show. Eight singers in this group plus a fabulous orchestra makes this one show you don't want to miss. The show room is a small intimate setting you might know the venue as the Krave.

How much fun was Thursday you ask?

How much do you love it when really good friends call you up and say ...."we are coming to Vegas"
Last year in February I flew to Tucson to celebrate my dear friend Sylvia's Birthday with her and this year she and her husband Bones decided to come to Vegas to celebrate not only Sylvia's Birthday but their 40th Wedding anniversary. They arrived Thursday afternoon and we spent the rest of the day and evening catching up ...okay okay she and I Skype nearly every day but still....we have a lot to say. I filled them full of margaritas, wine and chicken quesadillas and when Greg came home we dug into the Harvey Wallbanger cake I made for Sylvia's birthday.

JabbaWockeez

Ben and Julie are here visiting this weekend from San francisco and I scored tickets to see JabbaWockeez - Wow! these guys can really move. The show was great! funny, entertaining and lots of great dancing.
We were sitting in the second row and right next to the speakers so it was a little on the loud side for us but it was so mesmerizing that after the first couple of songs you really didn't notice. If you ever get a chance to pick some tickets up for this show I say "do it".
What a fun weekend, thanks guys! so glad you live so close now.
