Off the Grid with the whole Cox Cable thing

It's been about a month now that I got so fed up with Cox Cable I decided to dump them for my cable provider. I hired Mr. Antenna to come put up my antenna....yup one of the old fashioned ones that goes on your roof. I actually had Cox come out and put in all their little mini boxes they said we all needed but the day they did that it took them about 11 hours and they left my house with my main TV with NO picture at all ...and they knew it. All my TV's worked fine when they came in and and when they left it was pathetic. That night one of my TV's upstairs lost cable and I decided right there...all the mini boxes and Cox can go to hell. So for the past 6 or more years I have had a subscription to Netflix and Hulu which runs me about $15 a month which gives me more than enough movies and TV shows to watch and my Mr. Antenna gives me over 40 channels which includes all the local networks and can I just say the reception is so much better than Cox ever was? I'm so happy with my decision to ditch Cox for TV that I had to share .....I'm even saving $80 plus dollars a month!

Happy Campers

Another successful time at Camp Silverpines this year. Mt. Charleston is so beautiful this time a year and I have be so lucky to have been invited  to teach at this Camp for the past 4 years. Each year it gets better and better. This year Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick joined us at camp, she worked side by side with us and also played side by side. Besides teaching my normal classes each day I also taught a "staff class" that Marilyn attended and we worked  on well past midnight.
There were so many activities this year, we had wine tasting ...really good night, live entertainment and dancing both nights, archery classes, jewelry classes, yoga, picked ball, high ropes, craft classes, painting classes, cooking classes, not to mention our local weatherman Nate Tannenbaum and the crew from the Mob Museum came up to give really fun and interesting talks. We had the Las Vegas astronomy club come up one evening with the really big telescopes, There were so many other things it would make your head spin as a matter of fact our biggest complaint was we had so many great activities they couldn't choose. Until next year campers, thanks for a great time.

Congratulation's Ronna

Bad Boys Bad Boys!! So happy for my buddy Ronna who just retired from Metro after serving our city for 25 years. Thank you Ronna for including me in your special day, it was so nice to see such a huge turnout...I was wondering who was protecting our city as it seem that every cop in town was there to celebrate you. Everyone had the nicest things to say about Ronna and her management style, it was clear to me that she was well respected and loved at Metro and that the department will be feeing her absence. This was the celebration at the Detention Center with all her co workers but last night she had a big shin dig on the other side of town and yet again a great turn out. Beautiful room with a wonderful buffet and open bar. All her friends were there to celebrate her and the slide show they put together was priceless. She was such a baby when she started.
Wishing you the best in your new adventures and so happy for you that you now can do all the things your have always wanted to do.
What a baby she was when she started

These guys are in the photo above, they were all on the same squad back in the day, how cool is that?

Tarzan in Tuachan

Took my annual trip to Tuachan a 2 weeks ago to see the play Tarzan. Tuachan is just outside St. George Utah and is a great little outdoor theater. The play wasn't the best I've seen there but the ambiance is so great who really cares? Plus who doesn't have the best time on a girls weekend? Yup it was the Woman Wood Warriors out on the town and having a great time. I am so lucky to have the greatest friends...thanks guys can't wait to go back in October.
