Meet my Cousin Mike

My cousin Mike and his wife Sally are here in Las Vegas visiting their daughter Becky. Mike and Sally live in Spokane Washington and decided to come for a visit (I think he said they brought all this rain with them). We were able to meet up at the District to have lunch at the Elephant Bar ... how perfect for me since I love Safari's. We had a great visit, with lots of laughs and memories of our mother's who were the "Pratt Sisters". Thanks for the fun time at lunch today Mike & Sally and Becky it was so great to finally meet you, hope we can get together soon.

My High falootin, fancy schmantzy, hat

This month is our group's charm exchange and Betty is the "charmed one" and she has picked a flower  theme for our charms this time. Betty has invited all of us over to her house for a tea ...how fun is that? This is my "high falootin, fancy schmantzy hat (as Betty calls it) that I found on Ebay. Anybody who really knows me know that I love and collect pansys. Is this not the most perfect "high tea" hat for me?

Antique Shopping ..La-Dee-Dah-Day

Yesterday I went to Boulder City to have breakfast at the  Coffee Cup Cafe and then antique shopping with Jackie and Tanya. We had a great day and check out the treasure I found at Goat Feathers. How cute is this little cherub lamp?

Mama Mia

Check out this cool Lasagna pan I got for  Christmas. Ben and Julie were here visiting from Hawaii for a week and I made 3 different types of Lasagna. Spianch with a really yummy white cheese sauce, Spinach with meat and white cheese sauce and my famous red sauce Lasagna with turkey, sweet sausage and pork.

Christmas 2009

What a fun visit we had with my son Tyler, his wife Karie and our beautiful granddaughter Kaitlyn. I can't get over how big she has gotten and yup .. she is all girl just like her mom. She loves the movie The Wizzard of Oz and she had her ruby red slippers on every day.

We went to Circus Circus and then came home and I got her working in the studio already... Grandma ... what hammer do you think I should use for this project??
Thanks Tyler, Karie and Kaitlyn for making the trip to Las Vegas, I can't wait until I see you all again.

Christmas Party -2009

Yesterday was the annual BeadMetaler Christmas Party. Every year I have a party that includes all the students who have taken classes in that year. The guest list changes from year to year but the fun never does.

We start this party in July when we draw names, the only rule is that the gift has to be hand made. Wow!! you should see the creative gifts that are opened during this party. This year June hosted the party at her BEAUTIFUL house ... did I say BEAUTIFUL? We had a pot luck lunch with lots of yummy food, I smoked a turkey for the first time. Then it was time for the gifts. I started off by giving the gift I made for Sharon Noorda. Sharon has 7 kids and 29 grandchildren so I made her a special family necklace.

Jerry picked my name and OMG .... she made me the most beautiful quilt with a quilted image of HOPE; my eagle I watched last year from hatching to fledging. It is a beautiful work of art ..I love it Jerry!
